About Me and My Practice
HOW I WORK
I tailor my treatment to you, but I have found that cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), a method of looking at your thoughts to see how they influence your feelings, can be a very useful tool to help individuals feel less depressed, anxious and negative about themselves. I also strongly believe that journaling and other forms of creative self-expression such as drawing, can be powerful tools to help you explore your feelings and find solutions to your problems. As I am trained in both “talk therapy” and expressive arts, we will work together using whatever best suits your specific needs. I consider it a privilege to provide my professional support to help you feel better and reach your personal goals. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE I have a master of arts degree in counseling psychology from Antioch New England University and a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University at Albany. I am a licensed mental health counselor in both New York and Massachusetts. I have been a professional counselor for a dozen years and a writer since childhood. More recently, I have received training as a life coach from the College of Executive Coaching. I specialize in working with individual adults, adolescents, and same sex and mixed gender couples. |
